Scottish Terrier Puppy Questions, Answered
We’re a small, family-owned Scottish Terrier breeder in Granbury, Texas. Our puppies are raised in our home, and we work with families throughout Texas and beyond.
We breed only Scottish Terriers. Focusing on one breed lets us put all our time and experience into raising healthy, well-socialized Scotties with good temperaments.
Our family has been breeding Scottish Terriers for more than 20 years. Over that time we’ve learned a lot about the breed’s health, personality, and care needs, and we bring that experience to every litter.
Yes. Every puppy we sell is AKC registered, so you can be confident in your Scottie’s lineage and purebred status.
Limited registration is for families who want a companion pet. Full registration is for buyers who plan to show or breed their Scottish Terrier, and it costs extra. Please call or email us to talk through which option fits your plans.
Scottish Terriers come in black, wheaten, and brindle. A little white on the chest or chin is acceptable, and black and brindle Scotties often have some silver or white hairs mixed into their coats. Our upcoming litters include both black and wheaten puppies.
Scotties are small but sturdy. Adults stand about 10 inches tall at the shoulder. Males usually weigh 19–22 pounds and females 18–21 pounds, which makes them a good size for homes, apartments, and families.
Dr. David Brister, a veterinarian with more than 20 years of experience, is part of our family and oversees our dogs’ care from birth to adulthood. Your puppy has had professional veterinary attention from day one.
Our puppies are raised inside our family home, not in a kennel. They’re handled, socialized, and exercised every day, so they’re used to people, household sounds, and routines by the time they go to their new families.
Yes. Our adult Scottish Terriers live with us as part of the family, and you can view our females and males on the website. Seeing the parents gives you a good idea of the size, coat, and temperament your puppy will likely have.
We take deposits on upcoming litters. Take a look at our available puppies for sale on our Puppies page, or call or email us. Puppies go to new homes quickly, so we recommend reserving early.
Microchipping is available for an extra $60. We use ADEQID® microchips, the same brand we use for all of our adult dogs. Just let us know you’d like it when you reserve your puppy.
Yes, for the right family. Scotties are loyal, devoted, and affectionate with their own people. They’re also confident, independent, and sometimes stubborn, and they can be reserved with strangers or assertive with other dogs. Patient, consistent training and early socialization help them become wonderful companions.
Brush your Scottie’s wiry coat two to three times a week to prevent mats and keep it healthy. They also need regular exercise, such as daily walks, playtime in a fenced yard, or interactive games, to stay fit and happy.
Our prices are fair and never inflated. Contact us at 817-219-1823 or tbrister87@gmail.com for current pricing on available and upcoming litters. Once your puppy is reserved, you can pay through the “Make A Payment” section of our website.
