Molly, our Wheaten Scottie, is now four months old. She just got her first puppy cut and is so beautiful. She is such a loving puppy and, although she is very active, she even puts our granddaughter who is usually afraid of dogs at ease. She is smart, playful, and entertaining. I also want to say thanks to Dr. Dave. Molly got an upper respiratory infection a few weeks after we got her. The local vets were OK, but she wasn’t getting better. The two of you took her in, nursed her back to health, and returned her to us healthy and happy. You are both wonderful! I not only would, but have, recommended you to anyone interested in a Scottie or a Bishon.

We came home with Baxter yesterday and he did great on the trip home. We held him for a little while then put him in his soft sided flight bag. He slept for a couple of hours and we stopped to give him a break. Then back to the flight bag and trip home. He was busy exploring the house when we got here and has adapted well. We love him.

Bella (Ty sire and Sweet Pea dam) is now 13 weeks old, and we are completely in love. Our girls can’t wait to get home to her, and my husband says she has “stepped into a honey pot” because we love to hug on her. Very sweet dog, lots of spunk, and doing well on the potty training. We are in very impressed with the Bichon breed – virtually no shedding, a great small dog, loves to be wherever you are at all times. She has learned several tricks already too.

I picked my female scottish puppy (Kita Tesla) last Friday. I’m really happy with her, she is really smart, practically in one day she was potty trained (she miss the diaper every now and then) but she is really smart, playful, AND with a really shiny coat . Our family has suffered a severe trauma with our family dog Coco and are going thru a very tough time right now. My youngest (twins) are 10 and the oldest is 14. We are trying to start over researching for a family dog/dogs. We have allergies so that is given heavy weight. The grieving process is traumatic and will be better with time. We are hopeful that the Brister family can help us with a pet that will make our world a better place again.

I purchased my sweet baby boy Symon (Bichon-parents Lilly and Smokey) from Tara back in June. Symon is the first dog that I have ever had, so you can imagine how many questions I had! Tara and David were so good about answering my emails and my million and one questions, during the not one, but two visits that I made to their kennel.

Fast forward 6 months later, and this little Bichon has captured my heart more than I could have ever imagined. He is healthy, happy, playful, loving–everything that I could want in a dog and more. He has successfully completed Puppy Kindergarten, and while he was the most energetic one in the class at first (lol–true bichon!), he caught on so quickly to all the commands.

I love Symon and could not be more thankful to Tara and David for the care they took in breeding and caring for my pet. Thank you again and again! I would recommend them to anyone!

I picked up my bichon puppy, Piper, in June so she is approximately 8 months old. Over the past several months Piper has been an excellent addition to my home. She still has normal puppy behaviors, such as chewing, but other than that she is more mature than most pups her age. While it was very slow to housebreak her at first (and frustrating), she is now housebroken. She will cry when she wants to go outside to do her business. She also stays around me when we go outside off leash and she does not run off. I can tell that Tara spends a great deal of time and energy into breeding for the perfect temperament and cute personalities. The fact that her husband is a vet gave me some comfort in knowing that I would be purchasing a very healthy and happy puppy. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a wonderful companion to share their life with.

The Brister’s obviously love dogs – the puppy’s are cared for in a clean, warm and loving environment. This is not a puppy mill. We would recommend anyone to buy a Brister puppy.

Praise God for the blessing we received today, our little “Precious Boy” was perfect on the way home, we went to Petsmart, he has new red harness and collar, new bed, new crate, toys food, with a little designer food/water tray…. he seems shy timid and adorable… he and mom are resting now in her bed.. was too cute she was covering him up while I covered her.. We had a 3 hour drive to the Brister’s house and it was well worth it. We had the opportunity to meet their family and all the little Bichon’s. Our entire family was very happy we decided to adopt our little Apollo from the Brister family. Everyone was so nice and it is apparent that all the doggies are well taken care of. Our family all felt it important for the little Bichon to pick us as well as we pick him. Needless to say as soon as little Apollo came through the door he came right to us, like he was already a member of the family. We have had him only 2 days but it seems like he has been with us for much much longer. Everyone loves him and he just loves being here. He is always happy and playful. We also met the Brister’s newest litter of Bichons and they were just adorable. It was nice to meet them because it gave us an idea of how Apollo was raised. All the little ones were very healthy and friendly. We wanted them all. I highly recommend The Brister Family and also I highly recommend going there to pick out your little one. It is a small extra investment of time and money, but it allows you to see how loved all the animals are, how wonderful the Bristers are, and most important it allows the little one to pick you as well. Please remember you will have him for a long time and it should be extremely enjoyable for your family and your new Bichon or Terrier.

We have two scottie brothers, almost 3 years old, from the same litter. One is wheaton the other is black. They are the most loving and people friendly dogs I have ever seen. They can not be seperated and most often lie back to back on the floor….or couch. I think they would be lost without each other. If someone can take two dogs, as we did, the rewards are tremendous! Hello Tara!

We are very happy with little Martin … he is such a smart little boy! Martin sleeps through the night with no accidents. Can you believe he has already mastered the “potty” business? … He has had a couple of “accidents” of course, but I am quite amazed at the speed he learns! In one week, he knows his name and a few commands: come; sit; stay; potty; bed; leave; and others …

Our vet has checked him out this past Tuesday and in his words: “Martin is in excellent health and he is a great looking pup!”

We couldn’t be happier Tara … thanks for the care you put into the breeding and raising of the pups!

Our little girl Bichon is a doggie delight. Misty will be four months old in a few days and she is everything we hoped for and more. She is beautiful, healthy, happy, alert, and very sociable. Our five year old Bichon and Misty have bonded and make a mischievous team.
We are so happy that we found the Brister Family Kennels. We love the kennels. And they are such loving and caring breeders.

Tara and family we just want you to know Boudreaux has made himself right at home. He is working on his big brother Dillon (10 year old Bichon) but Boo has a little to much energy.
As for Neal and I we fell in love with him from the minute you posted his picture online. Then when we picked him up he melted our hearts. I would say he is already spoiled but that would be an understatement.

I brought my Sophie (bichon puppy) home Tuesday, June 16th. She has been a pure joy from the moment I took her out of Tara’s arms that morning, bonding closer and closer every day. She enjoys chasing us around the house, playing tug of war and cuddling. Of course everyone who sees her wants to cuddle her in their arms. Se is used to her crate already and goes inside to sleep at night and at intervals during the daytime. She is pretty sneaky though. Both times we have left her at home alone we have come home to find her on the other side of the barricade. I’ll have to outsmart her next time.
Sophie loves all the people she meets. I am sure she will be a wonderful pet therapy dog. She begins obedience training today. As usual, God plans very well. The trainer has experience in pet therapy and will help Sophie and I get the certification we need.
Thanks “boys” for loving and caring for my Sophie until I could come and take her home. 🙂

It has been exactly two weeks since we picked up our black female Scottie (Madisyn aka Madi). She is soooo adorable and has been and absolute joy. I picked up Essie Saturday December 27th from Tara and the family. Essie is Snowflake’s sister, a small white Bichon Frise. She is beautiful, funny, and so precious. Essie enjoys exploring her new home and just loves Mica, my roommate’s adult Bichon Frise. Mica doesn’t know what to make of little Essie. Essie is doing a great job with eating, drinking water, going outside for her business, playing with her toys, and loving on me.
I searched many websites looking for a Bichon and I was impressed with the Brister Family website. I could tell the puppies are lavished with love and attention. When I arrived this was confirmed. Tara’s husband is a vet and takes great care of the puppies. Her sons do a fantastic job caring for and loving on the puppies. Tara worked with me as I went through the process of looking to buying. She has been very helpful in getting me ready for little Essie.

My husband, Will, and I got our first puppy from the Brister family just two days ago. He is an 8-week-old male wheaten Scottish Terrier! Obviously, we had him shipped – 22 hours is a long way to drive! But he arrived exactly as Mrs. Brister told us he would. And where we expected him to be rather shaken up, he was as relaxed as could be. And he’s been that way ever since! He is the cutest thing and has a wonderful temperment, which we attribute to the Bristers. He’ll play but not too roughly, and he sleeps very well through the night – only getting up 2-3 times. And boy, is he smart! We keep his food bowl up between feedings, and after only two days of being home, he plops down where his food bowl usually sits and stares at the bowl on the counter when he is hungry! Potty training is also going well – only 2 accidents in the house! We are just so pleased to have such a loving animal in our house! Thank you, Brister family. Lily (LeeLee) and Pistache turned a year old on 1/19/08. They continue to be the joy of my life. I am so pleased to say the Prada (my new bichon puppy) has settled in to her new home and of course she runs the house. We picked up our male wheaten scottish terrier a couple of days ago and have been so happy with him. He is lovable and very friendly. He is very smart and loves to be with us. We enjoyed working with Tara and her facility is A+++. We have taken our little guy with us all this week and everywhere we go everyone falls in love with him. I enjoyed your website. It looks like you are people who love your dogs like I do.
We had 2 Scotties for a total of 18 years. Angus died at age 7 of a massive bacterial infection. He showed no signs of being sick. The vet said we probably couldn’t have saved him had we known he was sick. Clancy lived to be almost 14. He had a tumor in his abdomen. He was the sweetest Scottie that there could be.
We now have a long-haired dachshund. He’s a very good boy. When he goes to doggy heaven we’ll be too old to get another dog. I sure wish we had “time” to have another Scottie.

Bichons are among the very best companions God ever created. This morning we had to put our darling Harvey to sleep. He was 14 years old, and never ailed a day until 6 weeks ago. That is when the congestive heart failure, from which he was suffering, manifested itself. It was shocking how quickly he declined. We adored him. I can’t believe how such a small creature, our “l’il guy,” made such an impact on this family, and on our home. Please, please keep your pets properly vetted, within healthy weight guidelines, walk and play with them daily, and give thewm the LOVING discipline they crave.14 years down the line, when it’s the last thing you can do for them; when they can’t eat anymore, hold them close as you Dr. eases them into their new life. The scriptures say, “Man and beast you save, O Lord.” I’m sure that we’ll see him again…young and sassy, with his Bichon sashay back. Oh Harvey, how we all miss you. My husband and I are very interested in adding a Bichon Frise our family of two grown sons, and two grown Maine Coon Cats. We are looking for a breeder that we can visit and work with to find the puppy that would love our family. It has been many yea**ince we have had a puppy in our home and I am most excited to have reached the point where I am able to work from home and be there for a puppy. We want to add a member to our family, and are not interested in getting into shows I have so many questions and there seems to be so many “new” theories of raising pets. We brought our little Bichon home almost a month ago, and everybody in our family loves her! Our Daisy is everything we hoped a Bichon would be. She’s sweet tempered, happy just to be with us, and highly responsive to training (even to the word “no”. She adapted very well to the crate training routine, and only had a few potty accidents during the first week or two. Until Daisy arrived, I had only HOPED having an indoor dog could be this easy! My husband and I picked up our puppy, Scooter, yesterday. We are so excited to have her and love her to pieces. We’ve bonded so well already. Scooter doesn’t like me to be out of sight and will come to find me when I’m not where she left me. She loves going outside with our other dog, Dixie, and has fun rolling in the grass. Only one of our four cats has shown any interest in her. They’ll probably end up being playmates. Scooter likes to play tug with a soft toy, barking and growling with pleasure. Hi, went to pick up my two pups last Saturday; their first week went very well considering they are alone all day; potty training for our little girl, Lily (pronounced LeeLee in French) is a little slow; our little boy Pistache (Pistachio in English) on the other hand seems to be doing a lot better in that domain; hmmmmmmm girls always more complicated :)They are soooooo adorable and cute that it is very hard to stay upset with them for a long time. They both have lots of personality and am not sure right now who will be the “boss.” Having two babies is challenging and lots of work; but well worth it!

Hi! We got our little puppy about 3 weeks ago, and he’s doing so well. We named him “Tuesday” and everyone loves him. He’s the friendliest dog, always wanting to say hi to other people and dogs. I just wanted to let everyone know that I received a wonderful Bichon from Tara. When he arrived at the airport, he was sooo fluffy and looked like a Polar Bear. So, my kids named him Benny Bear. He is our first puppy. He loves everyone. He is very active and loves to play in the yard (and in the house) with the kids. He loves to chase them. And he loves to be chased. Our bichon puppy is the best. I highly recommend Tara for finding puppies who are highly socialized, sweet tempered and easily trained. Our vet said that our puppy exibited none of the characteristics associated with over breeding. If you wait to pick-up your puppy until he/she is over 14 weeks old…you’ll get an almost completely potty trained puppy! January 10, 2007 Dallas, Texas
